Shiny as a new penny!

Sarah's fashion sense

Grunge poseurs?

This is another scanned page from one of my college years scrapbooks. I chose it for the particular get up I've got on--the aforementioned flannel shirt, some sweatpants, a random suit vest (brown, I believe), and a green "Shiny Happy People" hat that is easily the oldest piece of clothing that I still own. I bought that hat in 1989 while a junior in high school. I had a "thing" about hats during that period of my life.

We are, I promise acting very stupid in this top picture, listening to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" during those first heady days when everyone was listening to that song.

It makes me cringe, really.

The bottom picture is my old high school friend (and college room mate) G. chillin' with Lynda in our kitchen.

(I miss that old house. . .)

Smells like teen spirit?

This picture, taken moments after the first one in this "stupid college" series, captures us rockin! Look at us ROCK!!!!

Pretty "fly" for a 4-yr old

Who's cuter than me? NO ONE! My dad brought that straw hat back from one of his business trips to Hawaii back in the 70s.

You can see how blonde my hair was back then. It stated getting brown during my teen years.

Jester

Another stupid college picture. I don't remember if this was my hat or G.'s hat. I'm betting it was his. He was more of a Renaissance fan than I was in those days, but I wouldn't lett a chance for a stupid hat picture to go by.

This picture was taken in the upstairs bedroom of the house we lived it. It was more of a converted attic space. We slept there for three years, and about two years later I heard that that space had been deemed a fire hazard. The bedrooms were moved to a different part of the house.

LotR: The Exhibition

Here is a replica of one of the Argonath seen near the end of FotR. In the actual film, the large stones were completely computer-generated. WETA Workshops created these replicas for this traveling exhibit.
Here are the two Argonath on the main floor of the Indiana State Museum. Once we got up to the third floor, camera's were off limits. So, my actual photos of the exhbit are very limited.
Here is a view of the surrounding buildings in the downtown Indianapolis area. The day was beautiful. I almost wish we hadn't spent the entire time inside or on a highway. To the left of the central building is the RCA Dome. We were lucky that the NFL Colts were on a bye week or this entire area would have been swarming with football fans. To the right is a factory that is sort of picturesque and might be entirely decorative.
A poster that could save me a lot of needless exposition and typing.

Another view of the Argonath, intended to show the inscription carved on the polystyrene. Can you see it? (I took these pictures from the second floor landing, by the way, lest you think I am levitating David Blaine style.)
