US 301 is a great alternate route to Florida. I took it from Washington, D.C. to Tampa and I got off in Santee , S.C. and followed this route through GA. It sure beats the boredom on I-95. The problem is there is no sign at Santee advising this is a way to get to Florida. Do any tourist organizations promote this route?
